Nearly 40 villagers from Bray gathered together on Thursday 13th November to celebrate their success in Britain in Bloom in 2014. Not only did the Village gain an RHS Gold and one Special Award at Regional level but they went on to win an RHS Gold Award in the National Competition and crowned this success by being judged “the Best Small Village” of 2014 by the RHS, winning their Small Village Category at the awards ceremony in Bristol on 16th October.
The entry was organised by the Bray Enhancement Committee which has been led for many years by Margaret Pierce, assisted by Julie and Chris Graham and advised by Maggie Hughes. There are, of course, a long list of villagers and businesses who have kindly given their time and effort to making the small village in which they live and work, the best in the UK.
