Hire of Tennis Court – COVID 19 restrictions
Bray Parish Council is keen to allow residents use of the tennis court facility but wish to ensure that use of the court is compliant with social distancing restrictions and the safety of users. These
guidelines have been produced in line with the latest Government guidance Staying Alert published on 25th July 2020 and will be amended in accordance with further guidance.
Tennis Booking Restrictions
In line with current advice, singles and doubles can be played with people from different households. Use of the court is only permitted by prior booking (please see details below).
Larger group activity is only permitted for venues following Covid-19 Secure guidelines. Bray Parish Council is unable to comply with these guidelines so a maximum of 4 people only is allowed at any
one time and for this reason, whilst coaching sessions for children and adults are now possible, the Parish Council will not accept bookings from coaches.
– Each player should bring their own equipment.
– No social activities should take place at the Court.
– No food or drinks should be consumed on the Court.
Booking the Courts
Bookings must be made and paid for at least 24 hours in advance through the Assistant Clerk . Her contact details are firstname.lastname@example.org Please note that the Assistant Clerk is
only available between 9:30 and 12:30.
Payment for the courts must be made by BACS in advance of play quoting user surname and date and time of booking eg Smith 13/05 10:00. Details of the bank account to be credited will be
supplied at the time of booking.
Although the requirement for a buffer system has been removed, as there is only one entrance to the court the parish council will continue to implement a buffer period between bookings to allow
time for the previous users to leave, we ask that users respect that this is for their protection and do not exceed the time period booked.
Using the Courts
– Please leave the gate to the court open whilst you are playing.
– Users are asked not to adjust the net.
– Users are asked to refrain from using the bench in the court.
– Spectators are not allowed.
COVID 19 Safety reminders
The Parish Council is unable to provide hand washing facilities or hand sanitiser and the courts are not cleaned. Users are therefore asked to ensure that they wash their hands for 20 seconds as soon
Bray Parish Council as possible both before and after using the tennis court and to make regular use of hand sanitiser after opening and closing the tennis court gate.
Users are reminded to catch coughs and sneezes in tissues – Follow Catch it, Bin it, Kill it and to avoid touching face, eyes, nose or mouth with unclean hands.
Pre-Attendance Symptom Check
Anyone attending a venue (including players, coaches, staff and any other visitors), should undergo a pre-attendance self-assessment for any COVID19 symptoms using the information on the NHS
website before leaving home.
No-one should leave home to participate in tennis if they, or someone they live with, has symptoms of COVID -19, currently recognised as any of the following:
– A high temperature
– A new, continuous cough
– A loss of, or change to, their sense of smell or taste
Should an individual have demonstrated any such symptoms, they must follow NHS and PHE guidance on self-isolation NHS
